For years, the Koppenberg had been left out of the Tour of Flanders when the organizers believed it to be "too dangerous." The ascent has been in and out of the race for several years, and was not included in 2007. In honor of the return of the most-beautiful climb, the Saturday morning ride from SMC will celebrate on the day prior to the 2008 Ronde van Vlaanderen with our traditional Koppenberg route.
8:30 from SMC. Supposed to be slightly rainy. In other words, perfect.
