About the ride Empty About the ride

Post  Admin Mon Jan 28, 2008 10:24 am

The local Saturday ride meets at South Mountain Cycles in Emmaus, 9am in the winter—8:30am in the summer. The pace is spirited and riders should have experience riding in groups. Distances vary depending on the weather, who shows up and how much time they have, but it's generally 25-40 miles. This is considered an advanced ride, however riders will not be left behind. If you need to hammer and leave people in your dust, this is not the ride for you. If you just bought a bike last weekend at WalMart, this is not the ride for you.

This is not a sanctioned "shop ride" but since we meet at the shop, the folks at SMC will ask that you sign a waiver. It's all fun and games 'til someone gets hurt... then the lawyers will want to pin it on someone.

About the ride Empty Time, routes, place

Post  BikeBeth Wed Nov 13, 2013 11:44 am

The Saturday ride meets at South Mountain Cycle at 10:00 a.m. This start time is during colder months only and will switch back to the (soft) 9:00 a.m. rollout on March 15, 2014 when Daylight Savings Time is in effect.
The ride normally goes for about 3 hours, although a 5-hour ride on warmer days isn't unusual. We sometimes stop for a snack midride.
